The name may me a bit misleading – this CoCSoft Computing Inc-developed application has nothing to do with male chickens (no, not roosters, the other term for a male chicken). CoCSoft Stream Down, an application that weighs in at a mere 1.5MB, is a streaming video media download tool.

Imagine this scenario if you will: you want to watch the latest video from your favorite singer. So you go online, do a bit of looking around, and find a website that offers a streaming video of precisely what you are looking for. So you watch the video on the site. The next time you want to watch the video you visit the site again.

CocSoft Stream Down provides support for HTTP, FTP, MMS, MMST, MMSU, and RTSP. This is to say you can use the application to download movies and videos off the web, download music off the web, capture streaming video, capture streaming audio, and record music from online radio stations.

All you have to do is provide CocSoft Stream Down with the URL of a streaming-media file and the application will download it and store it to the folder of your choosing. The application is a download streaming media specialist – it does this and only this like a pro. The downside is that it does nothing else. It cannot play the files it downloaded from the web and it cannot edit them.
